Arrests made in auto dealership embezzlement case

MASON CITY – Three former Mason City Ford employees were arrested today by the Mason City Police Department on charges of 1st degree theft and on-going criminal conduct.

The former employees that were arrested are Timothy Behm, age 52; Scott Behm, age 48; and John Behm Sr., age 75, all of Mason City.  All three were released on their own recognizance and are to appear in court on March 7, 2012.

The arrests stem from an investigation of alleged theft at Mason City Ford, 215 15th Street SW.  Owners of the dealership reported to the Mason City Police Department that employees were embezzling money by misappropriation or deception.  After a thorough investigation, the MCPD says, the arrests were made.

On-going criminal conduct is a class B felony and 1st degree theft is a class C felony.

A call to Clear Lake Pritchard’s Auto Dealership confirmed by management that at least one of the Behm’s are employed there at this time.
